At the request of the Ontario Minister of Colleges and Universities, PEQAB consulted widely and identified key principles for a quality assurance framework for micro-credentials.
The Ontario Micro-Credentials: Harnessing the Potential report describes the proposed framework which seeks to harmonise understanding and provide transparency of micro-credential programming utilising existing policies and practices in Ontario's higher education system in order to recognise learner achievement and support lifelong learning.
The work was developed through a literature review, environmental scan, key informant interviews and consultations with stakeholders. Our sincere thanks to the hundreds of individuals and organisations who contributed to this proposed framework.
