Hopes and Hurdles: Ontario College Degree Graduates in Graduate School is a collaborative research project conducted by eight Ontario Colleges and the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB). The purpose of this research is to identify and address barriers to College Degree graduates' participation in graduate programs. It is co-lead by Mary Catharine Lennon of PEQAB and the University of Toronto and Joan Condie of Sheridan College. This project is ongoing with analysis and next steps in progress. The linked presentation is an overview of preliminary research findings, as presented at the 2018 ONCAT pathways conference.
This report examines PEQAB's External Expert Review Panel reports to gain insight into patterns in program quality and review processes. One hundred and forty reviews conducted between 2011 and 2016 are examined to identify common areas of program strength and opportunities for improvement as identified by External Expert Review Panels. The results of the analysis provides insight into quality assurance processes, policies and procedures [at PEQAB and in the institutions that it quality assures].
